Friday Musings

Its friday evening, and I am home from work. Not only does the weekend start here, but I have next week off work too - thats nine whole days before I have to go to work again. (smiles!) I am not going away, I dont really 'do ' holidays. Even if the budget allowed, I miss my animals terribly and dont relax- I'd rather have just the odd weekend away, and have days out instead.

back to today. The day dawned through lead skies and heavy rain. Within minutes of leaving home this morning, I was soaked. My jacket is showerproof, but this mornings rain was much much more than just a shower. Before going into work, I had a dental checkup to attend. I dripped and squelched my way into the surgery and sat down. Some discomfort Ive had lately isnt a problem with any of my teeth. I appear to be cutting a wisdom tooth!! How silly of me!

I went from there to work, and the day drifted on in a wave of passing time, rain falling relentlessly most of the day, until my working day was done and I could come home. In another downpour of rain!

So my plans for the next nine days? catching up with housework and the garden- an ever constant necessity. If it ever stops raining that is!! Dorset has been decidedly soggy of late!! I have some crafting I want to do, some half finished things I rarely find time these days to pick up., plus something I need to make for a swap I am involved in. Some baking too, I miss this as well, now its relegated to weekends only. I plan some lazy hours, curled in a chair with a book or three! I want to go for a walk, more than that, I feel the need to spend some time somewhere away from buildings and roads and noise. I feel so disconnected from the natural world a lot of the time now, I take solace in my garden but I want to be in woods or the wilds somewhere where I can feel Nature around me, feel connected to the Gods and the Spirits again.

I will be away overnight one night. I have to attend a check-up appointment in London, and will travel up the day before, staying with my dear friend overnight, before coming home the next day after my appointment.

I also may be lucky enough to have a day at the seaside, but thats not confirmed yet.

So, I am looking forward to next week......

Hi, Leanne,

I hope your week off is wonderful, and sans any more rain. I think we are finally out of our holding pattern of rain, wind and grey skies.

I have a job interview Monday - please send positive thoughts my way - I really need this!

Do hope you have a lovely week off, Leanne, and that the weather improves for you - it's been dreadful here in Devon since we got back from holiday on Tuesday.

Have a lovely break Leanne - I think you've earned it. Jog my memory - did I promise you some cuttings or seeds? I have a niggling thought that I may have done, back in the dark days of winter. Oh and if you want some Aquilegia seeds, I have thousands!
